A town in Wales gets wikipedised

You’ve gotta give points to the towns in Wales for trying to create unique selling points to get the tourists rolling on through. There’s the bookshelf house, the longest place name in the world and now this.

Everything of interest in Monmouth has a plaque with a QR code linking to it’s corresponding Wikipedia entry. The video and the article explain all…

New Zealand in 4K - So beautiful

I love high FPS slow-motion video. I also love New Zealand. So this video, shot with this camera, made me a tad home sick.

The Mongol Rally

In a nut-shell, 10,000 miles from England to Mongolia in a 1.5L of less car. There’s no set route, very few rules and once you start you’re on your own in the big bad world. I found out about the Mongol Rally a couple of years ago and I’ve had bursts of unreasonable motivation to do at various times over the years. I still think it’d be awesome, but finding 3 like-minded friends and the right time to do it is the hard part.

These guys did the rally last year, took a whole bunch of fantastic photos and made an hour long video of their mission. One of them just did an AMA on reddit.

I was looking through TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice list for 2012 and coming in at #18 was Bora Bora. I’d heard of Bora Bora but had no idea where it was, French Polynesia is the place and i’m pretty sure it’s the most perfect beach location I’ve ever seen. At £650 per night, FourSeasons Resort looks like the place to stay too. Paradise.
(The location for this crappy movie too)
